Adding Windows 2000/XP workstation to Active Directory PHAS domain

When a user account is created on "warp" utilizing the script /home/passwd/addusr, an Active Directory user account (on Windows 2003 Server) is also created.

Only Windows 2000/XP workstations on RES-ADM subnet could be added to the Active Directory PHAS domain. To add Windows 2000/XP workstation to Active Directory PHAS domain:

  1. Right-click on My Computer
  2. Select Properties
  3. Click the Network Identification tab
  4. Click the Properties button
  5. Under "Member of", click the "Domain:" radio button
  6. Type phas
  7. Click the OK button
  8. When prompted for name and password, enter "bigcheese" and "adam's coffee", respectively
  9. Click the OK button
  10. Wait a minute or two and a welcome message will popup
  11. Click the OK button
  12. Reboot
  13. After reboot, at logon, press Control-Alt-Delete
  14. Click the Options button
  15. Select PHAS from the drop-down list
