G4U on a USB stick


  1. Install NetBSD on a USB stick first:
    1. Find a system
    2. Physically disconnect hard drives and floppy drive
    3. Plug a USB stick
    4. Boot the system with NetBSD installation CD
    5. Install NetBSD (minimal installation) on the USB stick without swap, see NetBSD example installation
    6. When finished, reboot

  2. Copy boot and netbsd files from G4U CD:
    1. Leave the NetBSD installation CD inside the optical drive
    2. At the installation screen, press CTRL-C
    3. Replace the NetBSD installation CD with G4U CD
    4. At the terminal, mount both the optical drive (cd0d) and USB stick (sd0a)
    5. Copy boot and netbsd files from the G4U CD to the USB stick
    6. You now have a bootable G4U USB stick
